About
Professor Yoram Palti was an Israeli biophysicist and serial entrepreneur. He founded Novocure in 2000, developing Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy, which uses electric fields to disrupt cancer cell division. He also founded Carmel Biosensors Ltd., CellSense Ltd., EchoSense Ltd., O2Cure, and BetaVive. Palti was a professor emeritus of physiology and biophysics at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology and was awarded the 2022 Israel Prize in Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation. He passed away in January 2026 at the age of 88.
