Wissotzky Tea is an international, family-owned tea company based in Israel with offices in London and the United States. It is the leading tea distributor in Israel, holding a 76% market share in the local market. The company was founded in 1849 in Moscow, Russia, by Kalman Zev (Kalonimus Wolf) Wissotzky, and became the largest tea firm in the Russian Empire. By the early 20th century, it was the largest tea manufacturer in the world. The Middle East branch of the company was opened in 1936 by Shimon Zeidler, a descendant of the Wissotzky family by marriage. Wissotzky Group, formed in December 2012, also includes Zeta Olive Oil and Lahmi (which has an international brand named Elsastory), a home baked goods company. The company exports its products worldwide.
