Shmuel Cabilly is a highly regarded scientist, an Angel Investor and an experienced Board Member of Several Companies. He currently holds three board and advisor roles including Board Member at Irody, Board Observer at Medasense, and Board Member at Pango. Dr. Cabilly previously worked for several companies including as the Co-Founder and a Chief Scientist of Ethrog Biotechnology, where he invented two dry-buffer technologies. The company was later sold to Invitrogen. Dr. Cabilly graduated from the Hebrew University (Ph.D., Immunology), and was a Post-Doctoral fellow at the City of Hope Research Institute heading a joint City of Hope/Genentech project where he developed a new technology for recombinant antibody production. This invention was patented in world patents, issued in the US 1989 and 2001. Today there are 20 drugs in the market based on this technology, including Herceptin, Rituxan, Traceba, Raptiva and Xolair.
