Research Fund of Barzilai Hospital

The Fund for Medical Research, Infrastructure Development and Health Services, also known as the Research Fund of Barzilai Hospital, was established in 1997. It is recognized as a "Health Cooperation" fund with the main goal of promoting activities at the Barzilai Medical Center. The fund assists in financing research, projects for the benefit of patients and public health, medical equipment, and the maintenance of buildings and new technologies. The Barzilai Medical Center itself is a 600-bed district general hospital in Ashkelon, Israel, serving a population of 500,000. It is affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and is a teaching hospital. The hospital also has an Innovation Center, established in 2023, to promote healthcare innovation, particularly in conflict zones, patient safety, and advanced medical devices.
