About
Phillip Frost is an American physician, inventor, pharmaceutical executive, and philanthropist. He is recognized for his leadership in developing generic drugs and medical diagnostics, as well as for his significant donations to science, arts, and education institutions. Frost founded IVAX Corporation, a multinational generic drug manufacturer, which was acquired by the Israeli firm Teva Pharmaceutical Industries in 2005. He later became the chairman and CEO of OPKO Health, a Miami-based company focused on diagnostics, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals. Frost holds several U.S. patents, including one for a disposable punch biopsy instrument.
