About
Paul Maritz is a Zimbabwean-born South African computer scientist and software executive. He held significant positions at Microsoft, where he was responsible for the development of Windows 95, Windows NT, and Internet Explorer. After leaving Microsoft, he co-founded Pi Corporation, an early cloud computing company acquired by EMC. He then served as CEO of VMware, tripling its revenues, and later as CEO and Chairman of Pivotal Software. Maritz is also an active individual investor and serves on the boards of several technology companies. He has an interest in supporting education and wildlife conservation in Africa and has been involved with the Grameen Foundation.
