About

Global Innovation and Technology Alliance (GITA) is a not-for-profit Section 8 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) company, jointly promoted by the Technology Development Board (TDB) of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). It was incorporated on November 29, 2011, under Section 25 of the Companies Act 1956. GITA's vision is to strengthen India's innovation ecosystem by supporting technology and innovation-driven enterprises. It serves as an institutional mechanism to provide end-to-end services and support for the emergence of an innovation ecosystem with a demand-pull for industrial innovation and technology startups. GITA manages government funding to support Indian industry-led research and development, particularly in collaboration with international partners, and administers bilateral industrial R&D programs in selected priority areas to help advance technologies toward market deployment. GITA has provided an enabling platform for techno-economic alliances between enterprises from India and partnering countries, including Israel.
