Dr. Giora Yaron was born in 1949 in Israel. He is an active founding investor and founder of a group of high-tech and med-tech companies. Among these companies are P-cube (acquired by Cisco), PentaCom (acquired by Cisco), Qumranet (acquired by Redhat), Comsys (acquired by Conexant, Texas Instruments), Exanet (acquired by Dell) Hyperwise Security (acquired by Checkpoint), Qwilt, Itamar Medical, Excelero, Equalum, Aqua Security and Vulcan Security. Dr. Yaron has been serving as board member and/or chairman of the boards of these companies since their inception. He also served as a chairman of the board of Mercury Interactive (acquired by HP). Dr. Yaron has also served as the president of Indigo NV, leading the company to a NASDAQ IPO. Prior to joining Indigo, he served as Corporate Vice President of National Semiconductor [NSC] and was the Founder of NSC wafer fab in Israel (today Tower-Jazz Semiconductors). In 2017 Dr. co-founded Siraj Technologies and Siraj NGO focused on bringing the Bedouin community into the high-tech domain. Earlier in his career, he led, with his team at NSC, the invention of the revolutionary microprocessor, which provided the foundation for the microprocessors as we know them today.
