Farhan Thawar

Farhan Thawar is a seasoned technology executive and engineering leader with over two decades of experience. He is currently the VP and Head of Engineering at Shopify. He co-founded Helpful.com, which was acquired by Shopify in 2019. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at Pivotal Labs and Xtreme Labs (acquired by Pivotal), Microsoft, Celestica, and Trilogy. Farhan is also an active angel investor and advisor to numerous startups in Toronto and San Francisco, and a mentor at Y Combinator and First Round Capital. He was named one of Toronto's 25 most powerful people.
