Dr. Vered Shalev-Hurvitz is an Israeli academic who has taught History of Medieval and Byzantine Art and Architecture at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. Her research interests include art and architecture in late antiquity and Byzantium, the architecture of synagogues and early churches, and the earliest concentric churches. She is the author of "Holy Sites Encircled: The Early Byzantine Concentric Churches of Jerusalem." She is also the daughter of the late Eli Hurvitz, founder of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. Following her father's death, she has been involved in initiatives related to patient safety and combating hospital infections.
