Dan Amiga is a serial business entrepreneur and angel investor, investing in early-stage deals. He is currently a Co-founder & CTO at Island (f.k.a - Zero Abstraction). In addition to this role, Mr. Amiga is a Member at CyberStarts and an Insider at YL Ventures. Mr. Amiga is the inventor of the Web Isolation technology and the Founder and CTO of Fireglass (Acquired in 2017 by Symantec). Prior to founding Fireglass, he was the chief software architect of Schneider Electric, an international software & hardware energy giant. Before that, he has led the software security department for the Microsoft Technology Center in Tel Aviv, helping financials, governments, and critical infrastructure companies to deliver security to their business. Early in his career, Mr. Amiga has spent a few years in 8200 unit where he was focused on developing security products including proprietary antiviruses, application proxies, and firewalls, from kernel level to high-level monitoring applications. Mr. Amiga is also a frequent presenter in many software and security conferences, such as RSA & Blackhat, and an adjunct professor in Reichman University (the Interdisciplinary Center, Israel), teaching advanced high scale cloud computing courses.
