Capability and Innovation Fund

The Capability and Innovation Fund (CIF) is a fund established by the UK government as part of the Banking Competition Remedies (BCR) to stimulate competition in the banking sector. It provides grants and growth capital, primarily in the fintech, mobile, and payments sectors, typically offering between $5 million and $10 million in funding. The fund aims to enhance technology and expand services for smaller banks and fintech startups. Aidene Walsh is a lead director on the Capability and Innovation Fund Scheme.
