Benjamin Kahn is an Israeli marine biologist, environmental activist, business entrepreneur, and angel investor. His work includes ecological improvements of the Red Sea reef, where damage began in 1997 with the advent of fish farming, resulting from tons of waste into the reef. He has appeared on Time Magazine's list of "Heroes of the Environment" October 2007. His work has been done largely through Zalul Environmental Association, an environmental non-profit organization founded by his billionaire philanthropist father, Morris Kahn, and dedicated to protecting the seas and rivers in Israel. He serves as chairman of Zalul. In addition, He is the founder and former CEO of Atlantium Technologies, a water purification technology firm that developed a hydro-optic ultraviolet technology used as a non-chemical means to control biofouling. Mr. Kahn also serves as President of Coral World International, an operator of marine parks that specializes in ecologically-friendly tropical life systems in symbiotic environments. In addition to his substantial management background in aquaculture, he has an extensive portfolio of investments in technology companies in many fields, including education, computer software, life sciences and touch screen technologies.
