About
Alon Cohen is an Israeli entrepreneur and inventor, best known for co-founding VocalTec Communications Inc. in Herzliya, Israel, in 1989. VocalTec was a pioneer in the Voice over IP (VoIP) industry, releasing the first internet phone in February 1995. Cohen is also the co-inventor of the Audio Transceiver (U.S. Patent 5,825,771), which was instrumental in the development of Voice Over Networks products. After leaving VocalTec, he founded and managed other ventures, including BitWine and RemoteAbility. He holds five US patents on communications technologies.
