WindStore Energy is developing an energy storage system that integrates compressed air energy storage (CAES) within wind masts. This approach provides a low-cost, environmentally friendly long-duration energy storage (LDES) solution for the wind energy sector. With the global wind capacity currently at 900GW and projections indicating growth to 3TW installations by 2030, accompanied by a corresponding energy storage market of $435Bn, 358GW/1,028GWh, there is a pressing need for innovative storage solutions.
By storing energy within the wind mast using CAES, WindStore's system offers a cost-effective method. This design means that any wind farm equipped with our technology has the potential to compete favorably with dispatchable fossil plants.
