ThermoSiv is an Israeli startup that has developed SmartYarn®, an innovative technology based on carbon-coated electrically conductive yarns woven into fabrics. This technology provides a versatile, energy-efficient, flexible, environmentally friendly, and healthy Far Infra-red (FIR) radiant heating solution. SmartYarn® is used in various industries, including automotive for EV cabin and seat heating, agro-industry for greenhouses, and consumer items like apparel and therapeutic belts. The company aims to foster an optimal balance between environmental sustainability and quality of life by improving quality of life through green energy and healthy warmth, feeding the growing population by improving crops and lowering agro-production costs, and reducing greenhouse gases. ThermoSiv has successfully completed a General Motors (GM) funded R&D project for developing a “control system for radiant heating pad comfort with safety feature”, to be installed in its entire EV range. SmartYarn®, having passed the most rigorous GM testing, is slated to be installed in GM EVs as of 2024.
