spirCare is developing a device designed to measure the functional residual capacity of the lungs and airway resistance without causing breathing interruptions or requiring patient cooperation. The spirCare device is a small, mobile, handheld device that replaces traditional devices for lung volume measurements (e.g. body plethysmography), enabling monitoring of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at home, in clinics, and at the bedside, even if the patient is unconscious. The spirCare device can be connected to spirometers, ventilators, or any other tube-shaped device connected to the patient's mouth.
