Seanternet is deploying a satellite-free grid of smart and autonomous sea buoys equipped with Wi-Fi. The buoys, either mobile or moored to the seabed, can withstand harsh sea conditions and function as a physical infrastructure for broadband internet communication at sea. Seanternet's buoys are designed to carry and support different devices such as communication apparatuses, radar, and cameras. Long-range, landed communication systems connect to a selected internet service provider and wirelessly deliver the internet to the communication buoys at sea. A communication apparatus mounted on a client's ship then communicates with the buoys in range.
