Proteolease is developing an innovative product for atraumatic, fast healing, and stress-free tooth extraction. The product, X-Tract, biologically degrades the filaments that connect the root of the tooth to the alveolar bone by enzymatic decomposition of the periodontal ligament (PDL). This eliminates the need for uncontrolled mechanical distraction, tear, and release, simplifying complicated surgical tooth extraction procedures and enabling general dentists to perform multiple extractions without causing trauma to the patient and surrounding tissues. This allows for fast recovery and/or immediate tooth restoration with a dental implant.
