Promyco Diagnostics has developed a simple and noninvasive serology diagnostic kit for the detection of urogenital Mycoplasma infection to assess women for theirrisk of developing pregnancy complications. Promyco Diagnostics has found a way to address the unique characteristics of the bacteria, mainly antigenic variation, that make it hard to develop an efficient serology diagnostic test. Promyco Diagnostics developed a new assay based on a patent-protected mixture of mycoplasmal components (antigens). This antigen cocktail was carefully selected from Mycoplasma isolated from patients with active inflammation, resulting in a highly sensitive and specific serology test.
