About
Primer's Heritage Yeast is an Israeli company that emerged from a collaboration between archaeologists, microbiologists, and brewers. The company commercializes ancient yeast cultures, some dating back thousands of years, which have been isolated from ancient pottery vessels found at archaeological sites in Israel. These yeasts are used to create unique beers and for baking, offering a taste of history. The company spun off from academic research with the help of Yissum, Hebrew University's commercialization initiative.
