Pi-Harvest Israel Ltd. is a privately held R&D company established in 2011. They have developed a unique technology that increases the output of piezoelectric materials through special layering and composite architecture. Their main technological feature is the ability to produce over 10 times more energy under the same conditions as comparable state-of-the-art piezoelectric materials while maintaining similar manufacturing costs for mass production. Their piezoelectric devices also offer significantly better sensitivity when used as part of a sensor system. Pi-Harvest currently focuses on developing and manufacturing piezoelectric micro-generators designed to be implanted into a human heart to power pacemakers and AICDs, and is exploring applications in other industries.
