OGIREC, a specialized division of OGIN Solutions Ltd, is dedicated to innovative organic waste management and sustainable development. Their mission is to transform agricultural and organic waste into valuable resources, such as biofertilizers and renewable sellable cooking gas, thereby promoting sustainable growth in underserved rural areas across Africa and the APAC region. OGIREC's vision centers on driving sustainable rural development through a circular economy, where organic waste is converted into income-generating assets. This vision is anchored in four core pillars: Climate Action, Gender Empowerment, Sustainable Livelihoods, and Inclusive Innovation. OGIN is a member of AMDA – African Mini Grid Developers Association. OGIN partners with Mini Grid developers to establish R-Malls attached to their Mini Grids, thus substantially increasing the energy uptake from the Mini Grid to power activities like e-Mobility, PUE, and Virtual Mini Grid. OGIREC offers programs like "Back To My Roots" to empower agricultural graduates, especially women, to become Community Champions and establish R-Malls (eco-hubs focused on organic waste recycling). They also intend to rehabilitate failed biogas systems.
