OB-Tools is a research-based company founded by an obstetrician for obstetricians, focusing on developing fetal monitoring technology. Their goal is to become the obstetrician's tool of choice in evaluating and managing fetal development and the safe and timely progress of labor, as well as improving the safety and outcome of labor. The company's innovative solution, the TrueLabor™ Technology, is a non-invasive device designed to help maternal fetal medicine specialists and Ob/Gyns identify, measure, and evaluate uterine contractions and fetal heart rate throughout pregnancy and labor. The TrueLabor™ System also helps doctors and nurses distinguish between true and false labor signs. The TrueLabor™ Device utilizes a proprietary signal processing technology combined with a unique Embrace™ Sensor, allowing rapid application and the start of monitoring within seconds. The TrueLabor™ is a transabdominal electromyography (EMG) monitor (uterine electrical muscle activity - the "Uterine ECG"). Unlike current TOCO or Doppler fetal heart rate devices, the TrueLabor™ sensor detects tiny electrical signals generated by uterine muscle contraction and the fetal heart rate, providing a signal unaffected by obesity, movement, or coughing. It is an external and wireless device that attaches to any existing fetal monitor and electronic health record (EMR).
