About
Nanonics Imaging integrates scanning probe microscopes with other standard techniques, such as optical microscopy, Raman microprobes, scanning electron microscopes, and ion beam microscopes, introducing added value to many existing measurement tools. A central development of the company is a form of optical microscopy known as near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM). NSOM is used in plasmonic and photonic devices, optical circuits, advanced optoelectronic components, silicon waveguides and devices, and photonic bandgap materials and devices. Nanonics Imaging has also developed a NanoTool Kit of multiprobe-friendly probes that do not obscure the optical or electron/ion optical axis of the microscope. The NanoTool Kit includes optical, electrical, and thermal probes. It also includes probes providing nanovacuum and nanochemical writing capabilities, enabling a methodology called fountain pen nanochemistry, which permits nanochemical lithography on any surface with any ink.
