Monitex Ltd. was founded in 1980 and developed the world's first electronic taxi meter combined with a cash register. Over the years, the meter has evolved to include cellular modem and Bluetooth capabilities, allowing for various operations such as sending trip details to a server, accepting credit card payments in taxis, updating meter tariffs, and remote registration of drivers and authorized dealers. More than 200,000 meters of various models have been installed in most countries worldwide, including Europe, the USA, China, and Central America.
