Maolac is developing a new line of novel, high impact Bio Functional Proteins (BFPs) that can be integrated into food, beverages, supplements and cosmetic products. The company's functional ingredients are based on a, proprietary Proteomics Discovery Platform (MAOreka) that enables the enrichment of specific groups of functional proteins. Through the use of AI tools, including NLP search algorithms and Web Scraping technologies, MAOreka examines a variety of functional protein sources, be they dairy or plant-based, finding the best potential protein combinations that carry a high bio-similarity to human breast milk. Coupled with a unique delivery system for improved absorption and protein stability, Maolac functional ingredients offer significantly better performance at lower dosages.
The company studies all the proteins participating in these metabolic/immunological pathways by a broad literature survey and search according to keywords. Doing so, Maolac can produce new protein mixtures, which will be active and precise for any desired effect, such as anti-inflammation, gut health, and many more. MAOreka™ ensures quick (1-1.5 years) and cost-effective bioactive product releases vs. the standard R&D process, which may take over a decade and cost millions.
The products are made up of two key elements – Pre-designed active protein mixtures that will give us that clear indication, and an absorption system to protect the functionality of the proteins in oral administration. Its unique methodology offers access to a stream of new BFPs (Bio Functional Proteins), each targeting a specific indication with a specific mix of active proteins. Maolac BFPs are derived either from dairy source or a plant-based one. The common theme for all - they are Human-Grade (i.e. have a high bio-similarity to human functional proteins), making them, by design, the highest performing in the market.
