LectureMonkey is a mobile application for recording lectures. The app provides a distribution framework that allows students to share information without the need for centralized storage. With LectureMonkey, students can take collaborative notes by collectively tweeting comments during class or in an editing session later. The comments are collected, shared, and integrated into the lecture flow. The patent-pending smart-capture technology compresses an hour-long lecture into a high-quality recording that uses about 50MB of storage. Lectures are automatically uploaded to the student's personal Dropbox for safekeeping, and the smart-capture format ensures that the lectures are not uploaded to social media without permission.
