About
Hip-Hope Technologies (HHT) is the developer and manufacturer of the Hip-Hope smart wearable device, an active hip protector designed to protect older adults from often fatal fall-related hip fractures. Hip-Hope is designed as a fanny-pack worn around the waist. When an impending collision with the ground is detected by the Hip-Hope proprietary multisensor fall detection system, two large airbags are instantly deployed, absorbing 90% of the impact to the wearers hips. Fall alert notifications including the wearers location are then automatically sent to preselected contacts. In addition to its core protective functionality, Hip-Hope serves as a digital health, IoT, big data, and AI device, providing accurate motion and activity data along with remote monitoring and analysis capabilities. The device also incorporates a user-operated emergency call button. The first Hip-Hope device units have been in use by seniors in Israel and Canada since August 2017, and several of the users have already been saved from fall-related injuries. Hip-Hope is CE and FDA registered, and Health-Canada and AMAR (Israel) certified. Patents have been granted in the U.S., Japan, Germany, China, and the UK.
