GreenSun Energy is a research company dedicated to developing, producing, and selling solar panel systems. GreenSun's technology candecrease the cost of producing electricity from solar energy, while increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the solar panels. The GreenSun Energy solar cell uses a fraction of the silicon found in existing cells and can generate power when not in direct sunlight. In GreenSun's solar cells, only the outer edges of the glass plates are covered by silicon, in the form of thin strips. GreenSun's team can get the light to diffuse sideways to the edges, so that the silicon can turn it into electricity, by coating the glass with a combination of dyes and sprinkling it with nanoparticles of a metal.
