ClingTap has developed a one-way spout valve technology that enables various liquids to be dispensed while simultaneously preventing air from entering the container. Its solution extends product shelf life after opening, preserves flavor, and eliminates the need to refrigerate ultra-high-temperature (UHT) processed products after opening, such as UHT milk. ClingTaps spout is constructed of two layers of HDPE film that can open under the pressure of liquid passing through it, as well as collapse as a result of the surface tension of the liquid descending inward and away from the spout when pouring is complete. In addition, the spouts are engineered to meet existing pack and fill lines. ClingTap licenses its technology to soy sauce pouch manufacturer Yamasa in Japan.
