About

Blinker is the developer of a smart rear lightfor road cyclists. The lightattaches to the back of any bicycle helmet and indicates to drivers either the direction the cyclist intends to turn and whether the cyclist is braking. The signaling system is intended to increase safety and prevent accidents. The Blinker device also contains a gyroscope, which senses both tilt and changes in velocity. When cyclists tilt their heads left or right, the gyroscope activates the built-in blinker on the respective side of the device. When the cyclistslows down, the central red light comes on.The device uses a rechargeable battery and is suited rollerbladers and skateboarders as well as cyclists. Blinker users can also benefit from the associated app. In the event that the cyclist falls off the bike, the IMU component inside Blinker senses the intensity of the fall and automatically communicates with the users smartphone. The app can then initiate a text to a pre-assigned contact, who is sent the cyclists location and information about the seriousness of the fall. The Blinker app requires no manual input from the user throughout the duration of the ride.
