About
Bioplasmar has developed the knowhow to compound green waste into functional bio composites, suited to replace plastics in the manufacture of plastic products. The bio composites based on starch and green waste, are processable and deliver the same quality with a more sustainable material choice. The materials have been certified by TUV Austria as OK Biodegradable in Soil. It is therefore that these bio-composites are a great material choice where end-of-life of the products is indeed in the soil, as would many agricultural of construction products. The first proof-of-concept product brought to the market was the Bio&Pot, a biodegradable planting pot that can be planted in the soil. This avoid root shoch at transplant, provides efficiencies in irrigation and fertilization and avoids the hassle of empties collection and recycling. The Bio&Pot demonstrate circular economy in action - a material made of green waste, used now to manufacture new products that nurture the soil at the end-of-life. Bio&Pot are manufactured by the company in Germany, and are today the choice of many growers and green plant retailers looking to reduce their fossil based plastic use. Bioplasmar has set a fully owned compounding facility in Germany and is able to supply, planting pots and bio composites form its own facility. The company also provides toll compounding services utilizing its current excess capacity.
