Overproduction and massive returns are major challenges in the fashion industry, with significant ecological consequences. In Europe and the USA, 4–11% of all clothing is destroyed due to overproduction, while up to 70% of returns are caused by poor fit and style. This leaves both producers and consumers dissatisfied with the current state of affairs. The clear solution is to transition the global fashion industry toward on-demand production of custom-designed, made-to-measure apparel. However, for large brands, this shift is complex. Studies show that combining mass production with mass customization often results in even greater overproduction. In contrast, small and medium-sized businesses are better positioned to lead the shift toward this new fashion paradigm.
Aiclo is an AI-powered, cloud-based platform that integrates design, showcasing, and sales into one seamless process. It enables users to effortlessly create custom-designed clothing tailored to individual measurements. Currently, Aiclo is primarily a tool for small and medium-sized enterprises. However, its intuitive and user-friendly design requires no specialized skills, making it accessible to a broad range of users. Our next goal is to transform Aiclo into a marketplace for on-demand, custom-designed, made-to-measure apparel.
A key component of our vision is the creation of a global network of Aiclo Points. These physical locations, ideally situated in shopping malls, will facilitate and promote the purchasing of customized clothing. At Aiclo Points, consumers can place orders, receive their items, try them on, get body measurements or scans, and access in-store assistance for customized apparel. Initially, Aiclo Points are planned for launch in Tel Aviv, Barcelona, London, and New York.
