Agile MRI is developing a lightweight, open, low-field MRI that can be wheeled into any clinic or mobile van. With a press-to-scan interface and cloud-based image processing, non-radiology staff can perform scans in minutes — no shielding or heavy infrastructure required. Magnetic-resonance imaging is poised for decentralization: only ~ 13,000 MRI scanners in U.S. hospitals, while 100,000 primary-, urgent- and occupational-care clinics have none. Agile MRI’s open system, delivered on a pay-per-scan subscription, can push per-study pricing below a typical co-pay, pulling millions of everyday MSK and neuro scans to the point of care and unlocking a multi-billion-dollar recurring-revenue opportunity.
