Aegis

Aegis was an Israeli cybersecurity startup founded by Omri Limor and Saar Ankonina, both veterans of Unit 8200. The company focused on addressing security challenges emerging from the deployment of AI infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on protecting AI agents and developing defensive capabilities for organizations utilizing AI-driven workflows. Aegis developed a platform that identified the characteristics of attacks involving AI agents, which are difficult to detect with traditional cybersecurity tools. The company was acquired by Upwind in September 2026, just nine months after its founding, in a stock-based deal valued at tens of millions of dollars.
