D.C. Sirica offers infrared (IR) detectors for the night vision and thermal imaging industries that will facilitate the migration of IR applications from military uses to the mass commercial markets. This includes technologies such as video surveillance (CCTV) and drivers vision enhancement. Combining expertise in silicon (Si), infrared detection and imaging (IR), and integrated circuits (IC), Siricas all-silicon approach aims to bring about improvements in the cost, size, and weight of high-resolution infrared detection/imaging devices. Siricas technology is based on a physics discovery that provides a now-patented foundation for accomplishing IR detection and imaging in an all-silicon device, based on common CMOS and CCD visible silicon detectors that do not require special vacuum packaging or cooling.
