4C-Diagnostics has developed a platform for gastrointestinal disease management based on a hands-free, automatic stool-collection and sampling system that includes analysis and monitoring of fecal biomarkers. The 4C-DiagnosKit is a three-part module containing a stool-collection element, a sample preparation chamber, and a diagnostic element. A stool-collection cloth is placed over the toilet seat, and once a stool is collected on the cloth, the user presses a release button on the sample preparation chamber, which triggers an embedded cord in the cloth to pull a quantified sample into the chamber, where it is mixed and diluted. At this point, the sample is ready for diagnostics, which is performed automatically without any user involvement required. With a second press of a button, a diluted sample is transferred into the diagnostic chamber. Test results are ready within 10 minutes and displayed to the user. The Israeli Crohns and Colitis Organization is a founder and partner of 4C-Diagnostics.
