ZutaCore developed a patented, two-phase direct-on-chip liquid cooling technology called HyperCool®. Using a non-conductive dielectric liquid, the system cools high-performance electronics by boiling the liquid directly on the processor to remove heat through phase change. This approach offers a higher degree of energy efficiency and safety compared to traditional water-based cooling, as the dielectric liquid will not damage computing equipment in the event of a leak.
The technology operates by removing heat through the boiling of the dielectric fluid and the subsequent generation of vapor. This vapor is directed to a condenser, where it releases its thermal energy to facility water or air, allowing servers to run at much higher power densities. This eliminates the need for energy-heavy air conditioning in data centers, reducing cooling energy consumption by up to 90% and floor space requirements by 50%
