Wild Biotech is developing an AI-powered drug-discovery platform that can jumpstart the creation of new medicines for a vast array of illnesses. Wild Biotech has created an annotated metagenomic database of wild animal microbiota on the planet. It has done so using a process called "de novo metagenome assembly," employing artificial intelligence to organize and analyze gut microbes based on known associations with factors such as the animals' diets, activity, and lifespans. Wild Biotech employs an end-to-end process that goes from field exploration and discovery all the way to drug development and clinical trials. The company tackled inflammatory, immune, and gastrointestinal diseases as its first therapeutic challenges and is currently in the preclinical stage with several lead compounds.
