WaisMed develops and manufactures medical devices for emergency and critical care applications. The company has developed an automatic, mechanical, disposable device for rapid intraosseous (IO) access into the vascular system. Its Bone Injection Gun is an IO infusioninjection system that is easy to use, safe, and also suitable for veterinary use. Based on a patented injection system, WaisMeds IO devices provide rapid, safe, and easy intravascular access through the bone marrow. Connection to standard infusion equipment is simple for administering fluids, medications, and blood products. In 2014 the company received FDA approval and a CE mark for the NIO, a new intraosseous medical device.
