uLabs is the developer of an ultrasonic technology for next-generation point-of-care (POC) testing systems, enabling accurate real-time measurement of biological fluids and tissues.
The initial handheld version of uLabs' testing system is designed for clinical applications in hospitals. Results for samples routinely tested in clinical laboratories, such as blood, plasma, and urine, are comparable with the real-time measurements made by the uLabs system, offering an alternative to a central laboratory. In addition, uLabs' system can meet critical therapeutic needs in a variety of environments including emergency rooms, operating rooms, intensive care units, and outpatient clinics.
The company's technology is based on real-time ultrasonic lab testing of biological fluids, enabling tracking of electrolytes (K+, Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+, and Cl-), biopolymers (hemoglobin, total protein, total lipid, cholesterol, and blood glucose level), and certain vital signs (temperature, body dehydration, pCO2, pO2, and stress level).
uLabs has successfully implemented its low-cost ultrasonic unit, ensuring that the final customized product for real-time POC testing can be readily mass-produced.
