Low-fertility Insect Production
tHybrid's aim is to develop insect lines (seeds) capable of producing low-fertility insects. Those lines will be further mass-reared by insect manufacturers for pest control and released in fields, greenhouses, forests, and public areas. tHybrid's suppression of harmful insects could reduce the use of pesticides, suppress and manage insect populations with resistance to pesticides and Bt seeds, suppress quarantine insects to allow free exports of agricultural goods, and reduce insect-borne diseases in humans and farm animals.
