SunBoost provides technology that enables the installation of PV systems on greenhouses without compromising agriculture yields. The company uses specially designed optical glass boosters with an embossed pattern that directs sunlight to the PV panels while allowing diffused light into the greenhouse. The boosters and PV panels are positioned to collect excess light and to allow sunlight into the greenhouse when it is required for the crops. When the sun is low in winter, direct sunlight does not impinge on the PV panels or boosters; instead, light is directed into the greenhouse and the PV panels underperform. In summer, when the sun is high and there is excess light, direct light impinges on the panels and the boosters, which direct it onto adjacent PV panels.
