SMART Biotech offers Stimmunology, a technology platform designed to enable the detection of various infectious diseases, such as HIV, HCV, and others, within days of infection by processing and enhancing blood samples prior to testing.
The companys SMARTube is a pre-analytic device based on the Stimmunology technology which enables the detection of various infections using currently available antibody tests (e.g. EIA, Rapid test, Western Blot, etc.). Enhancing the antibody production in a blood sample using the SMARTube allows users to close the serological window between infection and possible detection independent of the specific serological timeframe or the presence of virus in the blood.
The SMARTube reduces the number of both false positive and false negative results. It can also be used as an effective tool to distinguish between recent and non-recent infections, as well as to report either spontaneous or drug-elicited viral clearance shortly after occurence.
