About

Game Platform to Help Autistic Children Practice Social Skills

Sentidio is developing a training platform to help children on the autism spectrum practice their social skills in a fun and engaging way using first-person simulations of social interactions. A therapist or parent chooses the appropriate content for each child and can track the childs progress. For the child, the platform is a game: each level consists of interactive first-person videos that ask them to identify another persons feelings or intent, choose appropriate actions in a situation, or engage the person on the screen using natural communication methods, such as smiling when needed, maintaining eye contact, and speaking clearly. Acting appropriately in the simulations equates to progress in the game, and detailed feedback is given to promote effective learning.
