Smart Urine Collection Device
Respect U is developing a non-invasive anatomical single-use urine collecting device that can be used by anyone for sterile and reliable urine collection. The device collects the middle urine portion required for tests and also indicates when enough urine for the sample has been collected. The receptacle into which the urine is collected complies with standard medical laboratory equipment. The product is appropriate for both home and hospital use. The Respect U team is collaborating with the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Sha'are Zedek Medical Center, Jerusalem, to test its first product, for newborns to two-year-olds. The company is currently in the process of patenting the device.
