Passive Imaging Medical Systems (PIMS) develops infrared-based endoscopy products designed for the early detection and diagnosis of colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and other diseases of the GI tract. The companys first product, an infrared detector device, is a patented, add-on imaging camera designed to improve physicians ability to detect GI tract lesions by providing an objective, radar-like tool. The PIMS device offers physicians an additional field of view in the infrared range. Irregular tissue radiates differently than normal tissue and can be visualized by the computer, allowing a specific spectrographic infrared signature to be immediately analyzed for reliable early diagnosis.
