Parallel Universe provides a complete, open-source, server-side stack designed to make it easy for developers to harness the full power of their hardware. With the Parallel Universe stack, developers can write super-scalable code that works in concert with modern hardware while still retaining the users programming language and simple, familiar programming styles. With the exception of the OS itself, the software contains a full infrastructure stack comprising a storage engine that minimizes IO; a database built for extreme performance and concurrency; lightweight threads (fibers) and actors for simple, scalable business logic; and a web layer that integrates existing web servers with Parallel Universes threads for immediate added capacity. Each of the softwares layers can be used in isolation and integrated with existing libraries, or the whole stack can be used together to build scalable software systems.
