In March 2017, ONSemiconductor announced theopening of two design centers to help the company deliver autonomous driving technology, one inEngland and the other in Israel. ON Design Israel Ltd, combines technology from a millimeter-wave radar IBM design center acquired by ON Semiconductor. This technology allows ON Semiconductor to address sensor fusion, where multiple sensing technologies are used to improve accuracy and automotive safety. The localcenter includes staff, equipment, research facilities, and intellectual property, and it reports directly into the Automotive Solutions Division within the Image Sensor Group.
In 2021, ON Design Israel Ltd was acquired by Indie Semiconductor Inc.
